FF29: NOEL

Last post for today! I have a Christmas card for you that I am entering in the Festive Friday challenge. I was drooling over the inspiration photo!

(A2: Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry (Noel block stamp and Cardinal in Holly set); Verve (Little Lanterns); Die: Spellbinders Ovals)

This card is very simple and quick to make. I LOVE Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps and when I saw the inspiration photo I knew they would be perfect for what I wanted to do.

I stamped the holly and masked before stamping NOEL. After stamping NOEL, I added some more holly above the sentiment and I heat embossed a tiny candle inside the O. I used the candle glow stamp with light yellow ink to give it more warmth. Using oval SB ovals I made a frame using some silver paper but I have no clue where I got it. I wish I could find more because I am running out. It is more pewter than silver, I guess. I used a piece for the border too. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

CS187: ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU

Hello! I’m back again for a couple more posts for today.  I admit, I saw the CASE Study photo for this week and was stumped for a few minutes, but then I remembered my new heart dies and decided to to a really bright card.

(A2: Stamps: Simon Says Stamps (Hello You and Big You); DSP: K&Co (Sweet Nectar); Dies: Lil Inker Designs)

The inspiration photo is below, and I decided to take bright colors and hearts from it to make this card. I cut the large heart in the background paper allowing the edge of the die to go off the edge of the paper. I used the negative area to place the positive (light pink heart) of the same die in that spot. I also used a smaller die on the pink die to create the opening for the sentiment which is stamped on white paper inserted behind the opening. Then with all of that attached, I used the middle size heart die and cut so that it overlapped the pink heart and left the negative there for the border paper (hot pink) to show through. I cut another heart using the same die from a piece of the DSP and attached the positive over lapping the other hearts. Last, I used the smallest die out of the same color border paper and used the positive, again overlapping the other hearts. I stamped the remainder of the sentiment on the same pink as the large heart and added a border. I then added a few random enamel dots and attached to a 4.25 x 5.25  card base, leaving enough room for the extended heart so it will still fit an A2 envelope. I hope you like it!

TI131: YOU ARE AMAZING

Hello crafty friends. On Wednesday I told you about a new challenge site (for me), well today I am sharing another one with you. I have dabbled with Tiddly Inks for as long as I have been coloring, but this week I learned they have a challenge blog! Since I just purchased a few of her adorable images I thought I would go ahead and get inky with this card.

(A2: Stamps: Tiddly Inks (Cute-licious – image only): Sentiment: by Me; Digital border: Sherry K Designs – freebie!)

The challenge this week is to make a card for a celebration, any kind of celebration. Since I made this card for Operation Write Home, I can just imagine a soldier sending this to his daughter for something she accomplished, and to me, that is a huge celebration, so I hope this counts for the challenge!

First, filled the background with blue and added the heart border. I then added the Cute-licious digi and my sentiment, printed and colored. I used a scrap from SN@P and a couple of pieces of red card stock for mounting.

Thanks for stopping by.
